PostHeaderIcon Celebrations Issue 5 Now Out!

cover

Last week, subscribers started to receive issue 5 of Celebrations, a fantastic magazine run by Tim Foster and Lou Mongello. I highly recommended this magazine a few weeks back, and still firmly do.

Especially this latest issue, because an article of mine appears in it! That’s right, the Main Street Windows article I mentioned awhile back appears in issue 5.

I just got mine today, and I must say that they continue to amaze me with how beautiful and informative each issue is. This month’s issue also features great articles about Disney’s Hollywood Studios (by Glenn Whelan of Passamaquoddy.blog.com),  pressed pennies (by the DisneyDaddy, Chuck Lionberger), and much more! For more information, and to order your copy, check out www.celebrationspress.com. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

And if you do already get the magazine, let me know what you think of the article!

PostHeaderIcon Stitch’s New Show Set To Close Already

Stitch’s Supersonic Celebration, the brand new show located in Tomorrowland that opened in the beginning of May, is already set to close according to a report from the Orlando Business Journal.

The show was based around a “Galaxy Day” celebration, hosted by singer Tip Trendo and his Galactic Girls. Then, everyone’s favorite outlaw alien, Stitch, highjacked the celebration and provided an interactive show, much like in Turtle Talk With Crush and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.

Though Disney officials are keeping quiet on the exact reason why the curtain is going to close, it is known that June 27th will be the final perfomance date.

We can only speculate why the show is closing so soon after it premiered. For starters, all over the Disney fan blogs, podcasts, and so on, it wasn’t getting spectacular reviews. Also, guests were known to complain about having to stand around in the heat while the show was going on. With the rising summer temperatures approaching, perhaps Disney’s closing of the show is a premptive measure.

It’s not known whether the closing will be permenant or not. It’s very possible that Disney is shutting it down to rework the show, and make it more enjoyable for the whole family. They may even be closing it down to construct some shade over the viewing area to help curb the heat issue.

I find it hard to believe that they would throw the show out the window already, after spending so long building and developing the stage and the show itself. Time will have to tell what the future holds (no pun intended) for Stitch’s Supersonic Celebration.

PostHeaderIcon Do you have any special WDW memories?

Of course you do. Everyone does. How can you not? Every visit there usually holds something magical, and you take a memorable moment home with you.

Now, there is a great new book called WDW Memories that is asking you to share your memories with the world. Straight from their website, “WDW Memories will spotlight favorite Disney vacation memories as told by everyday Walt Disney World Resort visitors. The nature of this publication is simple; to give Disney fans, new and old, access to the memories and magical moments only Disney can create and post it on a global platform.”

They have already recieved quite a few submissions, but they are looking for me. If you have a special memory from Walt Disney World that you’d like to share, check out their website, and send an email over to Lisette.

I’ve already sent mine in, and hopefully some of us will be able to share our stories with the world when the book comes out.

PostHeaderIcon Donald Looks Good For His Age

I’m a few days behind, but I just wanted to let you know that June 9th was the 75th anniversary of everyone’s favorite foul tempered duck!

Donald Fauntleroy Duck (and yes, that is his real middle name) first appeared in the short film “The Wise Little Hen,” and then quickly worked his way into our hearts.

Here’s to another 75 years!

PostHeaderIcon D23 Day One Membership Pin

Today, I recieved a nice surprise in the mail!

Like most of you probably are, I am a member of D23. I also had the pleasure of not only signing up for this unique Disney fan club on the first day it went live, but I was also able to do it while at Walt Disney World!

In any event, in today’s mail I received a D23 Pin for all charter members who joined on Day One.

Very cool!

Sorry for the semi-blurry pic, as I took it from my phone.
